Simbu as Billa

Silambarasan has expressed his admiration for Ajith on several occasions. His maiden directorial venture 'Vallavan' saw Silambarasan play a youth who admires Ajith.

'Kaalai' featured him with a few scenes with posters of Ajith.

The actor seems to have gone a step ahead now and will be appearing with the 'Billa' look in his forthcoming venture 'Silambattam'. According to sources, Simbu comes in 'Billa' attire in the climax scene with the same background scored used for Ajith.

Anu Vardhan (wife of director Vishnuvardhan), the costume designer of 'Billa' made some changes in the same suit that Ajith wore for 'Billa', to fit Simbu's size.

Simbu even utters some dialogues made by Ajith in 'Billa' for 'Silambattam'.

'Patch-Up after the Break-Up?' – Simbu and Nayantara

Both Simbu and Nayantara somehow make it to headlines no matter how docile they are. But then, can both be docile for long….probably not. Both are made for making waves in their respective films.

After high intensity spotlights were beamed on them with regards to their alleged love affair and then the alleged break-up, things got too hot for comfort. Grapevine has it that Simbu and Nayantara are now in a patch-up mood.

According to sources, both met in a party at a star hotel in Chennai recently, where their 'broken hearts' yearned for some glue to do away with the crack.

It is said that Simbu, who came to the party hall to meet his friend actor Vishal was surprised to see Nayantara there, along with Trisha.

He reportedly enquired about the actress and her forthcoming films for which his pair in the film 'Vallavan' reportedly answered with a smile. It is also said that Nayantara too inquired eagerly about Simbu's future projects.

It may be recalled that in a recent hunger strike conducted by the Tamil cinema industry, Simbu and Nayantara were seated next to each other. The pair attracted all eyes towards them though they did not speak a word with each other.

Simbu and Prasanna injured

Actor Silambarasan, who was shooting for ‘Silambattam’, and Prasanna who was shooting for ‘Achchamundu Achchamundu’ in the United States have been injured while shooting for their respective films. Simbu has reportedly sprained his ankle while performing a dance sequence and has been advised rest for the next couple of weeks.

Prasanna got a blow to his head while filming a fight sequence.

Says the director of 'Achchamundu Achchamundu' Arun Vaithyanadhan, 'We were shooting the climax and there was a stunt where John Shea had to punch Prasanna. We rehearsed everything and somehow the timing missed and the punch directly landed on Prasanna's head. I was watching the whole thing in the monitor and realized immediately that the timing had gone awry'.

'Prasanna fell on the floor and I yelled 'CUT' immediately. Stunt coordinator Ian Mclaughlin and the doubles went to the spot with a first aid kit and ice packs. Prasanna was totally shaken up and it was really a hard blow. Things came back to normal in 30 minutes and Prasanna, like a real hero came back to the spot and finished the stunt'.

Denying reports carried out in certain sections of the media that an iron rod was used, Arun Vaithyanadhan added, 'there was no rod involved and there are no stitches and Prasanna is fine now. He is a terrific sport. The footage of this accident would feature in the special edition DVD'.

Injuries to actors and actresses have become prevalent in the recent past. It may be recalled that Mansoor Ali Khan was injured a couple of weeks ago while shooting for ‘Kanthaswamy’, while Kajal Agarwal sustained bleeding injuries in the sets of ‘Modhi Vilayadu’. Meanwhile S J Suryah was hurt while shooting for ‘Newtonin 3am Vidhi’.

This goes on to show that artistes are putting in that much of extra effort in order to get the right effect. Competitive nature has crept amongst artistes and probably is the main reason behind the injuries. Audiences these days are very appreciative of hard workers and all artistes will have to be on their toes if they need to taste success. Keeping this factor in mind, production houses would have to step up safety standards with immediate effect to avoid unnecessary injuries.

Silambarasan, after sustaining the sprain injury was rushed to a private hospital and shooting was eventually cancelled.
